LiveAble Homes Certification

A LiveAble Homes Certification guarantees that the design and features of a certified home will accommodate all physical abilities, reducing the need for costly modifications in the future.

The LiveAble Home Certification is much more than ADA compliance. We utilize ICC/ANS 117.1 Type A/B international residential building codes and Universal Design standards to ensure that, at minimum, every feature both inside and out of a home is safe for anyone who visits.

Done well, this inclusive design becomes a virtually invisible element that allows any person living in or visiting the home to feel welcomed and comfortable.

The LiveAble Homes Certification is a searchable field in the RMLS system.

Why should you certify your home?

Certifying with LiveAble Homes gives your home an edge in today’s housing market. With more than 1/3 of all US homebuyers seeking homes designed for aging-in-place or multi-generational living, certification signals that a property is future-ready, inclusive, and marketable—helping you sell faster and attract a wider pool of buyers.

For builders, developers and remodelers, certification showcases your commitment to inclusive, forward-thinking design and sets your projects apart in a competitive marketplace, making them more appealing to a broader market of homebuyers.

LiveAble Homes is proud to partner with the Rogue Valley Council of Governments (RVCOG) to help expand accessible housing across Oregon. After years of leading the Lifelong Housing Program in Southern Oregon, RVCOG partnered with us in 2024 to support its growth statewide. As Oregon's accessibility requirements evolved, LiveAble Homes developed the LiveAble Homes certification program that aligns with current ANSI A117.1 Type A/B standards while continuing our shared mission of creating more homes that work for everyone.

If you are a builder or a homeowner in Josephine or Jackson County and are interested in certifying one of your properties, reach out to RVCOG today.
